Welcome to 1st Step Education & Training, where we provide a nurturing and holistic environment for individuals to study, learn, and practice a variety of skills. Our comprehensive alternative provision package offers an innovative educational experience that combines vocational training with functional skills development.

Our programme features courses in barbering, nail technician and construction,complemented by functional skills training in areas such as literacy and numeracy. To better prepare learners for entrepreneurship and self-employment. Our courses also incorporate elements of business studies, equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to build and manage their own businesses one day alongside their industry qualifications.

Our alternative provision is available a maximum of 2 days per student.

Our students are able to take away valuable industry skills in their chosen subject area that will give them a head start to start their careers or self-employment routes. 

Our alternative provision has high staff to student ratio's a pastoral manager on site, a director of education and behaviour along with qualified industry tutors.

Our site is located in the heart of the city centre.

We offer fomral qualification in functional skills and AIMS awards along with vocational qualifications with ASDAN

We are LEBC registered and enrolling students on course now.
